PAFOS FC ENTERS E-SPORTS

Pafos, Cyprus, May 3rd, 2021 – Pafos FC teams up with esports professionals to introduce club’s official esports team to enter FIFA’s rising esports league.

The Club will be joining the ever-growing digital presence of football among such clubs as AS Roma, AC Milan, Manchester City, Schalke 04, PSG and others who’s esports teams are competing for the honor of the clubs across multiple platforms.

The newly established Pafos Esports Team will represent the Club in VGL competitions over the next 3 seasons with plans to enter the VPG Leagues by the start of season 4. The Team roster will include local esports professionals to be announced shortly.

The Team will be managed externally, with Pafos FC proving all the necessary support for training, events and development. The Club will collaborate to create engaging content with players and fans, as well as host exclusive events in Cyprus and around the world. The Club will also launch a limited edition of merchandise and retail products that fans can enjoy.

As a part of the project, the Club wants to give the local youth community the opportunities to partake in this venture and create a new area of interest for them. For this reason, Pafos will create a B team and Academy team for young talents to join and get a chance to gradually break into the first team. The trial dates will be set and announced through Club’s SM channels in due course.

Roman Dubov: “We are very excited about the new venture, that will allow us to enter the world of esports which received a lot of attention from the football community all over the world in recent years. We believe it is a powerful new way for the Club to engage with the fans through the digital channels, especially in the current global situation, and bring together the worlds of football and esports. Pafos plans to build a strong legacy in the area and become a force to be reckoned with both in Europe and worldwide.”
